The ZTE MF79u is made in the form factor of a classic USB modem, which can be connected to the corresponding ports of computers, laptops, workstations and other compatible equipment. In Ukraine, the device can work in the networks of Kyivstar, Vodafone, lifecell operators. It can also be used abroad in the networks of operators comparable in frequencies. To work in mobile communication networks, the modem uses a micro-SIM SIM card slot.

ZTE MF79u supports frequency bands:

The modem supports the Ukrainian communication standards LTE-900, LTE-1800, UMTS-2100, GSM-900 and GSM-1800.

A WiFi module of the 802.11 b/g/n standard is installed on board, which operates at a frequency of 2.4 GHz and allows you to simultaneously connect up to 10 users to the Internet within a radius of 10 meters.

Also in the ZTE MF79u there is a slot for a microSD memory card with a capacity of up to 32 GB.

TS9 type connectors are used to connect an external antenna. MIMO antenna technology is supported.

The drivers needed to work with a desktop PC or laptop are stored in the modem's memory and will be installed when you first connect to the computer. The process is extremely simple and will not take more than a few minutes, after which the device will be ready to work.

Use cases

The ZTE MF79u can be used as a regular USB modem by connecting it to a laptop or a desktop PC. If you don't need WiFi with this connection, you can disable it in the modem settings. In this case, Internet access will be possible only for the computer to which the modem is connected.

If you need access to the network for several devices at the same time (for example, for several computers, smartphones or tablets, a TV and a game console), then you need to turn on WiFi in the modem and use it as an access point.
